Why Parents in Morocco Choose Maple Bear
Maple Bear’s Growth in Morocco
Maple Bear Global Schools opened its first school in India in 2005, and in 2007, Maple Bear schools opened in Korea and Brazil. By 2010, Maple Bear’s global expansion was well-underway, and the first Maple Bear school in Morocco opened in Rabat. A second school opened in Fes in 2016 and a third one is opening this fall in Casablanca.
The growth does not stop there. New schools will open during the 2020 school year in the city of Tangier as well as in the Casablanca, Mohammedia and Marrakesh area in the two coming years.
Maple Bear Schools, both globally and in Morocco, are embracing Maple Bear’s approach to offering the best of a Canadian Education for a global future. Maple Bear parents and students know that our schools are a perfect alternative to traditional international schools.
A Unique, Student-Centred Curriculum
Maple Bear is the only school with a Canadian curriculum in the whole country.
“It is clear that the Maple Bear brand is now internationally recognized for its high quality Canadian education and bilingual immersion program,” states Maple Bear Global Schools CEO and Chairman, Rodney Briggs. “Maple Bear offers a unique, turnkey curriculum, which is constantly being refreshed by more than 150 Canadian faculty members who train and support Maple Bear teachers around the world to deliver it properly.”
Besides the obvious wide gap in the price of tuition at a Maple Bear school compared to an international one, the student-centred pedagogical approach used in Maple Bear Schools is much appreciated in Morocco.
Maple Bear is motivating and supporting positively children throughout their education. We develop our learning strategies around student interests because we know that when learning is relevant and meaningful, it is strongly retained. Our programs are focused on higher order thinking skills and not on memorization, which is the hallmark of some other international schools.
Conforms with Moroccan Education Regulations from the Preschool to High School Level
Along with the Canadian programs, we provide the National program and prepare students to succeed the national exams.
The small number of kids by class at Maple Bear allow teachers to spend more time with each children and let them progress at their own pace.
Maple Bear schools in Morocco are bilingual schools at the Kindergarten level and tri-lingual starting Elementary. English, French and Classical Arabic are then taught to students using the Maple Bear pedagogy adapted to these programs.
All of our schools in Morocco are operating in conformity with the Moroccan Ministry of Education regulations offering fully articulated local curricula in addition to the Canadian program. This opens up many more educational options for Maple Bear students: they are prepared and capable of moving easily between the Canadian system offered by Maple Bear, their own country’s system and even International French and American schools. They can do so at any time during the K-12 years. Maple Bear students in Morocco are not tied to just one system.
